In Arkansas

Chloe & I just got back from Arkansas the day before yesterday.  We went to visit my mom & sister while Jeff & Rhys stayed here working on the rental house (it's almost ready to be listed!!!!!).  She said and did so many cute things while we were there that I'm sure I'll forget a lot of them, but here are a few that stand out to me.

*  She does this at home, too, but my family got a kick out of the fact that she likes to carry her milk cup and her water cup and alternates drinking them.  She calls them "milky wawa"

* While we were in Arkansas, we celebrated my dad's birthday.  I stayed with my sister, but we had my parents over for dinner.  Andria made bacon spaghetti.  I baked a bread pudding, and Justin/Kendra made a coconut cream cake.  Chloe was SO excited for Papaw's birthday party.  We had the big table set up in the living room for the adults, and we were going to put the kids in the kitchen.  Chloe wanted NO part of that because the big table = birthday party.  So, we had to put a towel down and let her sit at the big table so that she could be a part of the birthday party, too.

*  There was a big storm that blew through one afternoon while we were there.  It only lasted about 15 min, but it did significant damage around town.  During the storm, the leaves in the backyard were blowing completely horizontally across the yard, the grill rolled across the patio, and branches were blowing all over.  Well, during the height of the storm, Chloe starts jumping up and down and says, "It's a birthday party!"  LOL  I thought Kendra was going to wet her pants laughing so hard.  We have NO idea where she got it, but she was so excited!

* One evening while we were in the car, she was looking at the clouds and announced that they looked like "marshows"

*  Andria had baked cookies for a Chiari fundraiser while we were there.  She had them all packaged up on the kitchen table.  Well, fast forward to that afternoon.  Andria was gone, and I was in the bathroom blow-drying my hair.  Chloe was watching cartoons in the bedroom.  She comes running into the bathroom and says "What choo doin' mama?"  I told her I was blow-drying my hair, and she says, "It's noisy!  See ya later mama!  Bye bye!"  And she closes the bathroom door.  So, I finish drying my hair and go to find her.  She was in the bedroom with the door closed.  When I opened the door, she started saying, "No mama!  No!"  Upon closer inspection, I see she was eating a cookie.  Now, I had given her one earlier, but I THOUGHT she'd eaten it all.  I started playing it through my mind, looked down, and saw a bag with a purple ribbon discarded on the floor.  LOL  Yep, she stole one of Aunt Andria's cookies!  Thankfully, she only took the one package.  As I ran back into the kitchen to check, I was afraid that she'd dumped them all on the floor!

*  She LOVED the fan at Andria's house.  They had one sitting in the living room floor, and she was constantly going up to it and pretending to be blown over.  She'd say things like, "It's WINDY!"  or "Brrrr!  So cold!  Better put a coat on" (at which time she pretended to put a coat on).  Andria's boys also taught her to talk into the fan.  LOL  I was afraid she was going to put her fingers in it, but she was always good about standing back.

*  Chloe's sleep schedule was WAY off at Andria's house because she was sharing a room with me.  She rarely napped, stayed up too late, and got up too early.  As a result, she was super cranky.  At one point, she was throwing a fit, so Andria started mimicking her.  Chloe looks at her, still crying, and shouts "No!  Baby do it!"

* This child is terrified of flies.  Like normal old house flies.  She would SCREAM when she'd see one (this happened a few weeks ago when we went to Fazoli's for dinner after church, too).  Anyway, she was so afraid of the flies at Andria's house.  She'd scream and say, "Oh no!  Baby scary!  It's a dragon fly!"  We finally told her that they wern't dragonflies.  We started calling them "shoo flies" so that she could sing "Shoo fly, don't bother me," but that only helped so much.  She's still terrified of them!

*  On our last night there, just after we loaded the car, she was standing outside with Andria (whom she called "Aunt Andaba" and then that morphed into something that sounded like "Annawear").  She kept saying, "Listen!  I hear sumping!"  She saw the lightning bugs ("silly lightning bugs!  they have lights on their tummies!"), and she was convinced that she needed to find a cricket.  She walked all over the back yard, in the dark, looking for crickets.

* This is Andria in a chicken hat... she was trying anything to get an over-tired Chloe to take a nap!
