Funny stuff

Bedtime tonight, this conversation happened.
me: Chloe, it's bedtime! You know what that means? We need something that starts with the letter J. Can you think of anything that starts with the letter J that we use at bedtime? (J = Jammies)
chloe: "J" hmmmmm... J J J <making J sound> I KNOW! JELLYBEANS!!!!!
Nice try, kid. Nice try.

Tonight, on the way home from church, we heard Chloe in the back (she is still rear-facing in the car seat) repeatedly saying "ooooooh YEAH!"

-----------------------------------

Chloe just grabbed a spice out of the pantry and took off running.
me: Chloe, what spice do you have? Can you read the letters on the label?
Chloe: hmmmmm it say B-A-S-I-(number)1

She's been loving helping in the kitchen.  The other day, I told her we were going to make salsa & guacamole.  She says, "No guacamole.  Just pizza dough!"  The girl knows what she likes.

Yesterday while I was making dinner (a delicious pink alfredo sauce for a spinach pizza), I realized Chloe was being VERY quiet.  I yelled for her, and she came running in from her bedroom.  She was carrying the container of cocoa powder with the lid off.  It was all over her front.  When I went in to the bedroom, I found that she had dumped a good portion of it on her floor and bed.

About to have big changes in our home.  Jeff starts Monday back to work full-time.  He's been a student since Chloe has been born, and before that he worked part-time at Youthville.  He retired from the Air Force in 2008.  Starting Monday, he'll be working as a math & science para at Southeast high for the USD259 school district!  He's very excited, and I'm super proud of him!

We've been trying to work on potty-training.  Admittedly, we're only doing it half-heartedly right now, but it's about to get serious.  She usually sits on the potty for ages, but she won't actually go.  She DID finally go 2 nights ago while Jeff was in the shower.  She had gotten in the shower with him and quickly decided she didn't want to get wet.  So, she got out and sat on the toilet when he showered.  When he got out, she had peed.  She seemed as surprised by it as we were though, and she hasn't done it again since then.  Hoping this will happen soon!

Here are some pics of Chloe, Jeff, & Rhys from this summer.  She had a great time with her brother and was so sad to see him go.
