Random Stuff from October 2014

I've been really horrible about updating this!  It isn't because Chloe has been lacking in the cute department.  We've just had so many things going on in real life that I'm doing good just to finish the necessary things... let alone the extras like blogging.

*  Jeff is loving his job as a para at Southeast High.  The hours (M-F 8:15 - 2:45) are perfect for our family.  We miss him like crazy during the day, but the extra income is very helpful these days!

* After nearly a year and a half of working on the rental house, we are ALMOST ready to put it on the market.  I can't even begin to express the relief we'll feel when that thing finally sells.  We've put thousands of dollars and countless hours into it.  That's not even counting the monthly payments for mortgage & utilities that we're paying on a vacant house.  Jeff has just a little bit more to do on the interior (touch up some paint & swap out the electrical outlets), and we have a guy repairing and painting the siding this week.  I think the end is in sight!

* Jeff just finished his last class for his BS Computer Information Systems degree!  I'm so proud of him!  These last couple of months have been crazy with trying to balance work, school, the other house, and home.  Chloe has missed her daddy SO very much.  So thankful that things finally seem to be settling down!

And now for some Chloe cuteness.  Here are just a few random things that have happened recently:

Chloe's latest twist on a classic song:

Where is jocka? Where is jocka?
Doren Who? Doren Who?
Hudda Hudda Doo Doo
Hudda Hudda Doo Doo
Ding Ding Dong
Ding Ding Dong

---------------------------------------------

The other day, I found all of Chloe's little characters lined up nose to nose. I asked her what they were doing, and she very matter-of-factly told me that they were dancing.

------------------------------------------

One of Chloe's expressions that we hear all the time right now is "I better choose." This can be in response to any question we ask her. What do you want to eat? What do you want to watch on tv? Do you want to read a book? It's a little annoying when I say "Do you want _________ or _________?" and she responds with "I better choose." For crying out loud, just choose already! LOL

----------------------------------------

Chloe & I went to the zoo last week. She was complete cuteness.

--------------------------

Chloe drew a fish last month.  Personally, I think it was an accident because I haven't been able to get her to do it again.  Still, she was so proud of it.

--------------------------

Chloe's hair is getting so long.  We've never cut it.  It sometimes becomes a tangled mess, but she's pretty good about letting me brush it.  Jeff wants to let it grow until she's old enough to decide she wants it cut.  I don't mind doing that, but as soon as it becomes a battle to brush it, it's time to get a hair cut.  This photo was taken at the beginning of Sept, but it's even longer now.  Yesterday I was washing her hair in the tub, and I noticed when I was rinsing it that it was actually down to her butt crack.  LOL

-------------------------------------

Last week, I went into her room after her nap.  As soon as I opened the door, she said, "Oh hi mama. I have a big problem.  I have lots and lots of pee pee.  I need a new diaper.  Can you help me, mama?"  How do you say no to that?  LOL

------------------------------------

Speaking of diapers, we gave up on potty training for a while.  While I think she's ready, life was just so hectic that I found myself getting angry when she'd have an accident.  She was trying to show her control by choosing to go on her terms and peeing in her pants when she just didn't feel like going.  It wasn't worth getting mad at her about.  She's not going to kindergarten in diapers.  So, we went back to diapers for a while, and we'll try potty training again in a couple of months.

----------------------------------

She's been so lovey lately!  She loves to give us big hugs and kisses and say "I love you so so much, daddy!"  (or mama).  She'll also come running up to us and say, "How bout a big hug?"  I love this kid!

----------------------------------

She loves to help me in the kitchen.  We often bake cookies or banana bread or make salsa or guacamole.  Whenever it's time to cook, she says "I need my ladder!"  So, we have to go to the back porch and bring her step ladder in so that she can help.

----------------------------------

A couple of mornings ago, I went into her room to get her up in the morning.  I found her sitting in her bed with probably 10 stuffed animals in a semi circle around her.  She had a little blue bucket turned upside down.  She says, "Oh hi-yo (hello) mama!  These are my customers.  We're having a tea party.  Want some birthday cake?"

---------------------------------

Jeff & I have been cracking up lately because she'll go off by herself in the room, and if you look at her, she'll start yelling, "NO!  I'm NOT pooping!"  LOL Which, incidentally, is usually an indication that she IS pooping.
