Halloween & Jokes

Ahhhh the age where knock knock jokes are hilarious. This morning I told Chloe the old "orange you glad I didn't say banana" joke, and she thought it was the funniest thing she ever heard. So, a little while later, this happened:
Chloe - Hey mama! Knock Knock!
Me - Who's there?
Chloe - Orange!
Me - Orange who?
Chloe - Orange Banana Ice Cream! <insert hysterical laughter>

Chloe's quote of the night as we walked through the "Night of the Living Zoo":
We came across some trees that had ghost cut-outs spread throughout them. They all had different facial expressions, but they were just basic white ghosts with black faces drawn on. She pointed to one and said, "That ghost looks fwustwated!" LOL

------------------------------------------------------------

Chloe came to the other house to "help" daddy work. I was removing some spray insulation and although intrigued, she found the pieces to be very terrifying. She eventually warmed up to the idea of playing with them. This is why I love my little girl: Chloe picked up the long straight piece (broken in half in the picture and identified by the two blue arrows) and guess what she called it..."The number ONE!" That's right, not a sword! lol She then picked up the piece identified by the red arrow and called it....wait for it...."The number SEVEN!!!" I thought for sure it would have been called a gun, but I was wrong. Oh I wish we could all stay as innocent as small children sometimes.

Chloe: (pointing to my elbow) What's that?
Me: That's my elbow
Chloe: I like you elm-bow. See my elm-bow?
Me: Yes, I like your elbow, too!
Chloe: Yeah. It's petty. Daddy loves elm-bows.

Chloe loves to help unload the dishwasher.

and make banana bread

This morning, Chloe came in and said, "I want a piece of candy!"  I said, "Well, I want a kiss!"  She said, "Ok how bout candy then kisses?"

-----------------------------------------

Some friends of ours recently had twins, and I made the comment that the babies had been in their mama's belly.  I told her that SHE used to be in my belly, too.  She wanted to see a picture, so I showed her this one:

It was taken about 2 weeks before she was born. I was standing in what would soon be her bedroom. Her reaction to the picture was not at all what I expected. She said, "Hey! What happened to my book shelf? Where did it go?" LOL I was surprised that she recognized it as her room and that it was the corner where her bookshelf is now!

---------------------------

For halloween this year, Chloe has a cheerleader costume, a bumble bee, and a Captain America hat & shield.  They were all super cheap, so we just let her choose what she wanted to wear.  Jeff took her out to the "Neewollah" party at McConnell AFB on Friday where she wore the cheerleader outfit.  Then Saturday night, we went to Night of the Living Zoo where she wore the bee costume.  She's undecided what she wants to wear this coming Friday when we go trick or treating on Halloween night!

She's SO into the holiday though.  She's been watching halloween episodes of tv shows for a month, and she's been practicing her "trick or treat."  Saturday night at the zoo, she kept saying, "Trick or treat buzz buzz buzz!"  People ate it up!

------------------

Jeff always says to her, "You're my big girl!"  Or "How's my big girl?"  Well, chloe has started responding by telling her daddy that HE is her big girl, too. This cracks us up, so Jeff uses this funny voice and says, "I'm not your big girl!"  She thinks it's hilarious, so now she calls him her big girl just to get a reaction.  LOL
