It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas!

Clearly, I've failed at keeping this blog up to do date over the past few months.  I didn't even post photos of Chloe in her halloween costumes!

Yep, she had 3 costumes.  She wore the bee costume to the zoo event (Trick or Treat Buzz Buzz Buzz!) as well as to a "dorm" trick or treating event at Friends University.  She was a cheerleader for the (very lame) halloween party at McConnell AFB.  Captain America was her outfit of choice for going around the neighborhood on Halloween night.  She definitely loaded up on candy between all those events!

---------------------------------------------
She's VERY ready for Christmas!  She's been watching Christmas tv shows and movies, and each day she gets up to check out advent calendar (which she calls "a puzzle") to see how many more sleeps we have until Christmas.  She LOVES Christmas lights, and just about lost her little mind when she saw that there were presents for her under the tree.

She had been psyching herself up to see Santa.  "Ho Ho isn't scary!"  She said this for 2 months before time to go see the big man.  Once we got there, she realized again that Ho Ho is scary after all.  We finally got her to agree to talk to him while Jeff held her.  That went so well that Jeff tried to slide her over on Santa's lap.  She was ok for about 1/2 a second until she realized what was going on:

She asked him for a pink bicycle with a pink helmet and pedals (LOL) and a "girl."  Upon further questioning, she said that the "girl" is a "Doctor Suffins doll like Chloe."  (Doc McStuffins is a cartoon on Disney Channel that she watches). Prior to seeing Santa, she'd been saying that she wanted a pink bicycle, a baby, and a new stroller.  Since she's already got 2 strollers, I'm thinking that last one isn't going to happen.  LOL

Chloe is so into music, and she's always asking "who sings this?" or "who sings that?" So, last night, we were talking, and I turned it around on her -

Me: What does Sissy sing? ("Sissy" is my 16 year old daughter Kendra who writes her own music and plays guitar & sings)

Chloe: Ummmmm Sissy sings Shake It Off!!!

Me: Well, I don't think Sissy sings that one. Sissy likes one called Mary's Song (an old Taylor Swift song - it was the first thing that popped into my head)

Chloe: Oooooooooh! Right!!!! Mary's Song! Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb...

---------------------------------------------------

Me: Hey Chloe, do you want to go to the store and pick out a Christmas present for Daddy?

C: Yes!!!

Me: Ok, what do you think Daddy would like?

C: <thinking> I know! A Doctor Suffins doll! (Doc McStuffins)

Me: Hmmm... do you think Daddy would like that?

C: Yes! And we could share it!

Ya know, for 2 years old, she pretty much has this whole Christmas thing figured out. LOL

------------------------------------------------

Somehow Chloe has mixed up "snow angels" and "gingerbread men" in her head. Also, she forgets to say "bread" when speaking of gingerbread men. So, today she climbed up on our bed where we have a fluffy white blanket that she thinks looks like snow. She lays on the bed and starts making a snow angel except she says, "Look mama! I'm making a ginger man!" All I could think of was Ed Sheeran. LO

Chloe begging for bathtime (to the tune of Shake it Off): I just wanna take a baaaath. I just wanna take a baaaath. I just wanna take a baaaath. Take a bath. Take a bath

-----------------------------------------

From Nov 16: This morning, Chloe looked outside and saw snow on the ground. She was soooooooooo excited! "It's SNOWING!! It's CHRISTMAS TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" LOL poor kid. It's gonna be a LONG 5 1/2 weeks!!

---------------------------------

Chloe: Hey mama! You wanna color wit me?

Me: Sure!

C: Ok, what's you fave-it color?

Me: I like orange.

C: No... how bout you fave-it color is gween, ok?

---------------------------------

Chloe: Mama, what's Fanksgivin' mean?

Me: It's a holiday where we show that we are thankful for the things we have. We'll have a big dinner, and we'll eat some turkey...

Chloe: <excitedly interruping> Yeah! And broccoli and tomatoes and pizza, too!

Apparently, we're gonna have a nontraditional "Fanksgiving" dinner this year. LOL

---------------------------------------

Chloe was watching tv, and they were talking about where fruits & veggies come from. The question was asked, "Oranges grow on trees, so where does orange juice come from?" Chloe very quickly shouts, "A CUP!!"

----------------------------------

Chloe just asked for a ham & cheese sandwich with no ham or cheese. Just peanut butter. She insists it's not a peanut butter sandwich.
