We are nearing the month of birthdays in the Pritchett house. With Jeff's on Feb 5, mine on Feb 9, Chloe's on Feb 15, and Kendra's on Feb 16, it's pretty much the only thing on our minds for the month!
So even knowing that we are coming up on birthday season, I still can't believe we are just over a month away from Chloe's 2nd birthday. WHERE does the time go? I always thought time went by quickly when Kendra was little, but it's nothing compared to the way days are just blazing by now that we have Chloe. I'm not sure if it's that we're older (and having big kids, we are more aware of how fleeting this time is) or if it's the fact that I work now (I stayed home when Kendra was little). Either way, our baby is growing up.
This week, Jeff worked on the invitations for her 2nd birthday party (to be held at Build A Bear at the mall). Jeff & I are super stoked about it because we didn't get to have a 1st birthday party for her. Unfortunately, we've come to the realization that we don't have enough friends with kids. In order to have an official BAB party, you have 6 guests. We struggled to come up with that many, so we're just going to do a "drop in" thing instead with cake at the food court after. It's over a month away, but we are excited!
Speaking of birthdays, for months now, Chloe has walked around singing "Happy To, Happy To... Happy To..." I never knew where that came from, but last night, we were looking at one of her big "search and find" books when we came to a picture of Cookie Monster's birthday party. She got so excited, pointed to the cake, and said "HAPPY TO! HAPPY TO!" So, apparently, all these months she's been singing the happy birthday song! Jeff pointed out a couple of weeks ago that it sounded like what she was singing, but I couldn't imagine where she'd heard that song. Guess he was right!
