- On Jan 1. 2014, for the first time, Chloe said her name. It's BEYOND cute to hear her say "Co-ee". She even uses a little sing-songy voice and says "Co-ee, Co-ee, Coooo-eeeee!"
- She's learning colors at lightning fast speed! Purple and orange are her top choices and the ones she can tell us all the time when we ask what color something is. She recognizes other colors (green, red, blue, pink, yellow, black, and white) and can point out things in those shades. She just doesn't say them every time she's asked (I'd say it's about 50/50 on those).
- She's also really into numbers and letters. She has a number puzzle and can find the numbers when we ask (0, 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9 are her faves). She also loves letters and often runs around the house singing "Now I know my ABCs" or she'll say "ABCDE..." but that's as far as she's gotten. She's been digging Word World or Super Why which both feature letters, but of course, Sesame Street is a fave (speaking of which, she has said Bert for ever, but this week, she also pointed out Ernie or "NeeNee."
- After going to the lights last week, she's been LOVING trains. We've been watching Thomas & Friends on PBS, and she gets so excited to see the Choo-Choo. She'll clap and say "Bye Bye Choo Choo!" every time it's on.
There are so many more of these little stories that I want to share, but of course i'm drawing a blank. I need to get better about popping in to jot these things down when I think of them!
When Kendra was here for Christmas, she reminded me of the little sound Chloe used to make all the time "dig-a-buh dig-a-buh." I can't believe I'd forgotten that! She always said it so fast, and it was her signature sound. Sigh. Time goes too quickly.
I was also reminded this morning when Jeff & I were playing with her that she's been pointing out chest hair for several months now (honestly, this little trend is probably on its way out cause she hesitated when I asked her today). But she'll always point to Jeff's chest and said "chesha!" and then of course, she points to mine and says "boo-boos!" Lately, she's even pulled her shirt up to show her own boo-boos. Let's hope THAT goes away soon, too!
