We're alive!

Wow!!

This has been one crazy crazy week.  It all started last Sunday night as Jeff and I were going to bed.  We checked the security camera to see how Chloe was doing and found her sitting up in her bed.  Jeff went to check on her while I went to the restroom.  Unfortunately, he found her covered in vomit.  :(  It was horrible. She was sitting there heaving in her bed, and there was vomit everywhere.  I ran a bath while he got her undressed.  Then while he bathed her, I cleaned up the mess and started the first (of many) loads of laundry.

After she was all clean and in fresh jammies, we moved to the sofa where I held her and let her watch cartoons.  Daddy made a 2am run to Walgreens for Sierra Mist.  She must've thrown up 4 or 5 more times that night.  Thankfully, none of them were as bad as the first as she'd emptied most of her tummy with the first one.  I was nervous about putting her back to bed to sleep because I didn't want her to wake up vomiting again and not be able to hear her (she didn't cry out the first time).  Finally, around 5:30am, I put her back down in her crib, and I slept on the floor beside her (Jeff had to get up early to go be weighed in for his contest, so I insisted that he get some sleep).

Thankfully, she slept through til about 10am.  There was no more vomiting, but she still just laid around.  She was still drinking and having wet diapers, so I held off on calling the doctor.

By Tuesday, I was feeling weak and slightly nauseous.  I tried to power through, but by 1pm or so, I knew I was in trouble.  I cancelled my work plans for the week and went to bed.  I thought maybe if I rested, I could fight it off.  I was wrong (it probably didn't help that I"d been fighting a sinus problem for 3 weeks).  I ended up with the worst stomach bug I've had in years.  Vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, weakness... I had it all. (As I'm writing this on Saturday, I'm just NOW starting to feel human again... still weak with no appetite though).

As if all that weren't bad enough, Jeff came down with it Friday morning.  He skipped the vomiting part, but he spent the entire day yesterday in bed... he even used one of his 3 available "miss" days for eating at Genghis during the contest.  He was THAT sick.  Thankfully, his seemed to be a little shorter-lived than mine and Chloe's.  He's still feeling crummy today, but it's a huge improvement over yesterday.  I think he'll be back to normal in a couple of days.

So here we are on Saturday.  The house is pretty rough as no one has felt like cleaning this week.  Laundry is piled up, and I've got so much work to do since I didn't have a product last week.  Kendra comes next Saturday for spring break, and I want to be caught up on things so that I can relax while she's here.

I'm just thankful we're all on the mend.  I hope we NEVER have another week like this one!

And just for fun, here's a cute picture of Chloe Bean just hours before the stomach bug wiped her out!
