---------------
We spent much of the summer waiting to finalize the sale of our rental property. After a lot of hassle, we finally closed on it this week. We officially don't own that property anymore! I can't even express how good this feels!
---------------
We had Kendra (aka "Sissy") here for 2 weeks this summer, and it was fabulous. I made it a point to take a lot of time off work, so we really just enjoyed a lot of family time. A few of the highlights:
Homemade coffee drinks
Watching too many episodes of Friends
Playing Friends Scene-It Trivia
Baked a lot (blueberry muffin cake & banana bread were among the faves)
Had dinner at Carrabba's (Kendra's favorite)
Watched some movies (The Longest Ride, Big Hero 6, & Grace Unplugged)
Jeff grilled the best ribs ever (and my cole slaw rocked)
Went to the zoo
Tried Hurts Donuts (amazing!)
Went to Exploration Place
Went to the Water Park in Derby
Dinner at Pie Five after church (our favorite)
Monopoly on the Wii
Kendra babysat Chloe so Jeff & I could go to the Rhea Lana Sale
Not to mention just day to day stuff like playing with Chloe, cleaning the house, going to church. It was seriously a wonderful time, and I cried when I took her back. The night before she left, Kendra asked Chloe if she would miss her. Chloe was being very sassy that night and said, "No! I will NOT miss you when you are gone! I WILL NOT!" Admittedly, Kendra was hurt, but I assured her that she would change her tune, and I was right. Since she left, we hear at least a couple times a day, "You know what? I miss Sissy!"

Chloe is super duper excited this week to get to have her teacher over on Wednesday. She's already planning on how the house should be cleaned up and that we should bake a treat for Miss Emily.
This week Chloe and Jeff went to buy her school supplies. She took her little shopping cart and was SO excited. I can't believe my baby will be going to preschool in less than a month!!!

One of the highlights of our summer was driving down to Stillwater, OK to visit my friends Tara & Laura. Tara lives south of Oklahoma City, but Laura lives up in Illinois. I know them both from digital scrapbooking online. Laura drove down to spend a week with Tara, so we met up at Eskimo Joe's for a lunch one Sunday afternoon. Chloe had the time of her little life. She kept talking about how nice "those people" were in "Old McHoma." She especially loved playing with Tara's little boy Weston and their balloon guns that they had made at the restaurant.
She entertained everyone with her mad scatting skills -
And we have a new favorite video that Jeff made on this day -

This is Chloe's "Pirate Dress" as she calls it. She likes to wear it to church -

Helping mama bake. She says her favorite part is licking the batter. LOL

And now for some randomness that I've shared on fb over the past month:
"Do not buy me any more jammies with pink hippos. I do NOT like pink hippos. I only like grey hippos." Chloe, age 3, trying on new pink hippo jammies (oops!)

This has nothing to do with Chloe, but this picture makes me smile. My Jeff loves me. ♥

LOVE the semi-annual Rhea Lana children's consignment sale! Jeff & I feel that it's like Christmas! Chloe stayed home with Kendra last night, and we had a "date outing" at the sale. We loaded up! We found tons of clothes, halloween/dress-up costumes, winter coats/snow suit, shoes/boots, pajamas/bath robe, a chair for Chloe, a toy organizer for her room, and tons of DVDs/Toys/Games/Puzzles for Christmas! But the BIGGEST hit of the night was the green Hulk hoodie. Our girl loves her super heroes! She even asked to sleep in it last night! Score!!!!
We spent $300, but I made back $137 from consigning AND I won the facebook contest for a $100 Visa gift card. So really, I got all of this stuff for about $60!!

Chloe (age 3) explaining where honey comes from -
"First, the bees get some nectarine from a flower. Then they fly with they little wings into they hive and they make the honey. And that's how bees make honey."
--------------------------
Chloe was being a pill and starting to throw a fit...
Me: Chloe, you aren't acting like a nice girl right now.
C: I *am* a nice girl, but sometimes nice girls be mean when they don't get what they want.

Chloe chose her own clothes and got dressed by herself this morning. She was SO proud of herself (and I was proud of myself for not insisting that she wear shorts since it's 80 degrees out).
C: I got dressed all by myself!
Me: You sure did! You're a big girl!
C: I *am* a big girl! I breaked a board and kicked my butt!

(side note: I hate the word "butt," but I couldn't help but laugh here)
(and this post will make more sense when you read the one below here!)

From July 6 -
Warning: This post contains excessive cuteness!
Look at our cute baby!? Jeff is working on the video as we speak. She had her first belt test tonight and was soooooooooooooooo excited to break a board (with some help from her instructor. LOL) She thought she was BIG stuff.
Look out Black Widow. Chloe's catching up with you!
--------------------------
She got some new slippers at the Rhea Lana sale last week. She calls them her "goodnight slippers," and she likes to wear them to bed. Like literally UNDER the covers. I've tried explaining that you don't really wear them to bed, but she'll have no part of it. So the other night, I was tucking her in, and I started to pray. She quickly interrupts me in a panic... "STOP PRAYING! I forgot my goodnight slippers!"
------------------
We were talking about letters and the sounds they make, so we started listing words that start with the letter C (like "C-H-L-O-E... that spells Chloe"). She said a few... car, cat, carpet. I said cantaloupe.
She says "Cantaloupe is a hard word. I can't say cantaloupe." (Pronouncing it correctly the entire time. LOL
--------------------
I find myself being sad over the fact that she's starting to pronounce some words correctly. The most heart-breaking is "giraffe." Tonight, she said it correctly. For the longest time it's been "gah-jraff"
