Chloe is LOVING going to preschool at Jacob's Learning Ladder. She goes Tues/Thursday mornings from 9:30 to noon, and that's the perfect amount of time. At first, she would come home absolutely exhausted and be cranky all afternoon, but I think she's starting to adjust to her new schedule. Her teacher is Miss Emily, and Miss Marla is the assistant. Here she is with Miss Emily during Open House before the first day.
They have a great curriculum, but they have so much fun that Chloe hardly realizes she's learning. It's working though because one day, a couple of weeks ago, Chloe sat down at the table and wrote out her name completely unprompted. She wasn't looking at anything either.

Her first day of school was awesome because she was SOOOOOOOO excited. She went to bed early the night before and when I woke her up, she bounced out of the bed and couldn't wait to get out the door. She chose the perfect outfit and posed with her sign that we made for her:

She's making lots of friends, and they took their first field trip to the fire station last week. I was so excited to get to go along!

Sunday night September 27 was a big event in the world of space. It was a super moon/lunar eclipse. Jeff had been looking forward to it for weeks, so we let Chloe stay up so that we could all see it together. Jeff had the idea of going to the top of a parking garage in the area to get a better look. While there, he ran into a lady that he knew years ago, and she happened to have a telescope. So, it was a fun night out under the bright moon. Chloe had SO much fun. She kept saying how much she loved the super moon, and "I wish we could take a space rocket to the moon so we could get some moon rocks!"
I think Jeff got a decent picture of the moon, but here's a picture of Chloe (that she insisted I take) as well as some cool professional photos that I found online:
I'm sure I'm leaving out a ton of other cute moments, but I'm just going to copy/paste some of my recent facebook posts:
Chloe & I were baking a cake, and everyone knows that the best part of baking a cake is licking the bowl after.
I was carefully scraping all of the batter into the cake pan. Apparently I was doing the job a little too thoroughly, so Chloe offered some constructive criticism...
"Mommy! You're getting all of my favorite licks in there!"

Ahhhhh I do love 3 year olds who tattle on themselves.
Chloe has been asking for Jelly Bellies, so I told her she could have a few tonight after she ate her pizza. She ran to the dining room (Jeff & I were in the living room), and came back 30 seconds later and said, "Ok! I ate all my pizza! I can have some jelly bellies now!"
So, of course, I got up to go check. As soon as I stood up, she said, "I put a towel over my plate so you wouldn't see my pizza! So I can have some jelly bellies now!"
Sure enough, I walk into the dining room, and there is her plate with a dish towel covering the whole thing. LOL
Sneaky little twerp. I think we're gonna be in trouble when she's 15.

Late night Chloe funny because Jeff & I have been racking our brains trying to remember what she said earlier tonight that had us in stitches. Jeff just remembered, so I wanted to share before we forget again...
Tonight after having some jelly beans, she mentioned that the candy sometimes gets stuck in her teeth.
me: That's ok, we'll brush your teeth and get all the candy out so that you won't get any cavity bugs!
Chloe: Yeah, I don't want any bugs in my mouth. Jonny would have to spray my teeth. hahaha SPRAY MY TEETH!! hahaha! (falling over in a fit of laughter because she's so hilarious)
(Jonny is our pest control guy who comes every other month... Chloe is absolutely smitten with him).

Ah.... Kendra's first day as a high school senior!
I vividly remember this day in August 2003. Here we are 12 years later, and my girl is a senior! I can hardly believe how fast the time has gone. I'll admit that I'm shedding a few tears today just like I did on that very first day so long ago! SO proud of the young lady Kendra has become though, and I know she has SUCH a bright future ahead of her.

"But what happens if I can't write my name? Will my teacher help me?" Chloe, age 3, on her 1st day of school concerns #3yearoldproblems

Chloe likes to help me sort laundry, so today we were throwing clothes into the appropriate baskets when she pulled out my bra and said, "Mommy!? Why are you washing your boobie brain?" I asked her to repeat that because I was SURE I'd misunderstood. "Your boobie brain!" <giving it a big hug> "aawwwwwww! I love your boobie brain."
Um. Ok?

"Mommy, I need to go potty with my green game (aka Kindle Fire). It's been a long day." - Chloe, age 3 after her first day of preschool

Chloe was talking to Kendra (aka Sissy) on the phone tonight, and when Sissy asked how her first day of preschool had gone, she excitedly exclaimed, "It was goodtastic, Sissy!"

Not even 6:30pm, and one VERY cranky preschooler is in bed. I swear, today was one of those days where I could almost see the horns on her head. Tantrum after tantrum, hitting me, talking back, throwing things... just an all-around rough day. I know she's just worn out from preschool, but Mommy doesn't play that game. So, an extra early bedtime it is! (And she was asleep less than 10 minutes after this was posted)

Chloe (eating a pb sandwich): Oooooh I need to go potty REALLY bad!!!
me: Well, put your sandwich down and go, silly girl!
C: (starting to carry her sandwich into the bathroom)
me: no, put your sandwich down. We don't take food in the bathroom.
C: Aw man! I want to have a potty picnic!!!

Me: Can you think of other words that start with L?
C: Ummmmm YION! And Yah-ye-pop! (lion & lollipop)
Me: Oh good ones!
C: And YO YO!!!!!!
Me: No, "yo yo" starts with a Y.
C: y-y-y-yion, y-y-y-yo-yo. (confused) But they both sound the same!?

Chloe dressed herself for a date with her daddy. Can you tell?
--------------------------
Chloe: Um I kinda got my shirt a little bit wet
Me: What happened?
C: Well, I don't know.
Me: Chloe, I want you to tell me the truth.
C: I'm not going to tell the truth.
Me: Are you going to tell me a lie?
C: No, I'm going to tell nothing.

Me: Ok Chloe, it's time to go. Why don't you go put on your Dora shoes? I think they'd be the most comfortable.
C: Well, but I think my hop hop boots would be the most cute.

From Jeff:
Took this 5-min video tonight of Chloe showing me what she'd been working on over the past 2 days. All I can say is Impressive design and creative creatures. She later told me that I'm the one who taught her how to build. #ProudPapa #DustInMyEyesOrSomething

So proud of my girl Kendra. I love watching her doing what she loves! This was taken at the NW Arkansas Conquer Chiari Walk Across America last weekend.

Chloe stayed up past her bedtime tonight because she was involved in a very intricate "soccer ball contest" with her stuffed "aminals."
She very carefully placed sticker numbers "for their number shirts" for all of her "players."
Then she stood up gave a little speech and sang the introduction song that she made up to welcome everyone to the "soccer ball contest." She hoped we'd "enjoy" the contest.
Soon, it was time for the game to begin! I can guarantee you've never heard commentary like she offered!
"It looks like Woof Woof is gonna kick the ball to Snowy! Good job Woof Woof. And now Snowy is kicking to Ellie! Nice catch Ellie! It looks like Pluto has the soccer ball now and is kicking to Meow Meow. WOW! Good job Pluto! You won! You get the winner cup sticker!"
(at which point she presents Pluto, the white poodle (?) with a trophy sticker)
I may regret letting her stay up when she's cranky tomorrow, but it sure was entertaining to watch tonight!

Chloe has been telling me about her new friend "Onion" in tae kwon do. "But not like the kind you eat. It's just her name."
The girl's name is Anya. LOL

Chloe was "getting all the snuggles" with her daddy tonight & called to me from the other room requesting that I take their picture.

Looking stylish for preschool this morning. She was concerned that her boots & shirt were slightly different shades of pink. #girlproblems

Did you guys know that Chloe has discovered a new species? Now, I've never actually *seen* these things, but Chloe was telling me all about them.
They're called "pikeycorns"
Now pikeycorns are sorta like birds, but they swim under water. They're very small and live in trees.
They're very advanced creatures though. They can even drive cars! Not human cars, of course. Just pikeycorn cars.
Their diet consists mostly of vegetables. Carrots are their favorite, and they don't like cheese.
They're nocturnal creatures, but these are a special kind of nocturnal animal that sleeps at NIGHT. wink emoticon (They're studying nocturnal animals in preschool this week. LOL)
Sometimes she likes to go to the pikeycorn museum to see them. It's a cool place that's sorta like a tae kwon do class.
Pikeycorns come in a variety of colors. In fact, Chloe has 5 of them, and they're all different. She has a daddy pikeycorn who is red and a mommy who is black. They have 3 little babies. The baby girl pikeycorn is silver, and her name is Currow. The other 2 babies are boys (purple & blue) who's names are Junior and Tunior.
I can't wait til I can finally meet one of these things. Chloe says they are her favorite "aminal," so I know they must be pretty spectacular!!
