Our baby girl is TWO years old today!! I can't even believe it. We aren't actually celebrating today as her party will be Wednesday night at Build A Bear. Still, it's a big deal, and she has been singing "Happy to!" all day (that's how she says happy birthday).
We received the SWEETEST gift in the mail today from her big sissy, Kendra. It was a montage of photos set to music. Kendra has been working on it in her technology class at school, and I LOVE IT! I cried (of course!) When Jeff has time, I'm going to see if he can pull it off the disk and upload it to YouTube.
I've been pretty bad about updating things recently as our lives are just CRAZY right now. Last year, I did the Genghis Grill Healthkwest contest where I had to eat at GG every day for 60 days and do social media tasks daily. Well, Jeff was chosen to compete this year! I'm so proud of him! He's doing great, but it takes up a LOT of our time. Between the time spent on the tasks, going to GG every day, and his long sessions at the gym, he doesn't have time to help with Chloe much. When he IS home, he's got to be doing homework for his 2 classes that are killing him right now. He is SO stressed. We keep reminding ourselves that this will pass. Chloe sure misses her daddy though!
Since my last post about finding Chloe naked in bed, she's become an old pro and stripping (how wrong does that sound?) The girl can have her jammies and diaper off in record time, so we now duct tape her when we put her to bed. A big strip of duct tape across the front of the jammies does wonders. We know it's time to start potty training, but we REALLY don't have time right now. I'm hoping to wait another month or so, and then we'll start. She's very ready, so hopefully, it won't be TOO challenging. I just want to wait til we can fully commit to it.
So last night, on the eve of her 2nd birthday, I was working (I always work on Friday nights because that's when my store at Sweet Shoppe goes live with new products for the week. I"m the assistant to my boss, so I work on the newsletter). Well, last night, I was working, and Chloe brought me her diaper. She was so proud of herself, and I looked up to find Jeff trying to cover his laugh. Well, that got me tickled, so I had to leave the room. I came back around the corner just to see Chloe grab my full cup of hot coffee and dump it on my keyboard. :(
Thankfully, she was ok, but my keyboard was not. Jeff worked to help me clean up the mess and try to get it going again, but it just wasn't happening. So, I got his old keyboard out (he got a new one for Christmas), and we have it hooked up now. It's awkward to type on, but at least all the keys work. Note to self: never leave liquids within Chloe's reach!
Ok, on that note, I really need to run. We both still need to shower, and then we have church tonight. We're excited because Chloe gets to move up to the 2 year old room! She's going to have SUCH fun. We let her see it last week, and we couldn't get her out. They get to do stories and songs and a snack,and there are LOTS of toys. She is going to love it!!! Afterward, it's Genghis Grill and then back home where Jeff will continue to work on his dance video for the contest... it's gonna be legendary!!
